- About Me:
- Rob Drewett is an accomplished Producer Cameraman/Editor and has been working in the media industry for the last 7 years.
After leaving school and before realizing his dream job would be behind the camera, he started off as a Green Keeper quickly progressing to Tree Surgery. During this time he took a family trip to New York that turned his life upside down. He happened to be up the Twin Towers the day before September the 11th and was in the street watching as they came crashing down. This immediately put his life into perspective and he new there was more out there to experience, so off he went to travel the world, this is where he found his true passion and later spent 6 years travelling doing what he loved best.
He first picked up a camera whilst scuba diving in Thailand and since then has rarely been seen without a camera in front of him. He has always relished being underwater capturing marine life in action! He has spent more than 8 years diving as a PADI Dive master and logging over 1500 dives.
Four years ago he got offered an amazing job working for the ‘Save Our Seas’ Foundation in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where he was part of the Sheiks private dive/production team. Filming the sheik underwater with everything from whale sharks to turtles as well as his extravagant lifestyle topside, travelling to various different locations with the team. Working with and learning from some of the best in the industry.
Rob finally moved on from there to start up his own company ‘Waterproof Productions’. He has gained considerable experience filming all over the world including Australia, Asia and Africa, shooting for Educational movies, Documentaries and TV shows.
Rob in 2007 finished producing a new series for sky’s ‘Living in Spain’ channel called ‘Spanish Dive Adventures’. A very successful TV Show that was all about the diversity and beauty of marine life and diving along Spain’s southern coast.
In Rob’s latest adventure, to his good fortune, he became a World Record Breaker. He did this whilst making a documentary about the amazing Earthrace power boat circumnavigating around the globe in the fastest time, to promote awareness of renewable fuels.
The 3 other crew members and Rob spent 60 days, 23 hours and 49 mins in a 78 foot Trimarine, which went under the wave instead of over them and ran entirely on Bio-diesel. www.earthrace.net
Since he has been back home he has been making Documentaries, Music videos and TV shows. He is now looking forward to joining the team at Audio-Freaks and bringing a new dimension with some funky videos to accompany their already highly acclaimed music.
