Had some good food and a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed at Ibo Island lodge, but for May its still sweltering, we have definately arrived in the tropics and slept with a wet towel on me to try and cool down.

Woke to perfect weather and headed out to a small tidal sand island for the day, was really great, totally unspoilt, dived on a nearby ship wreck and swam in the warm blue sea...our hosts set up a gazebo on the island and served fresh fish off the grill...

After a power nap we headed into the town to what was once a thriving beautiful well architected town. Most of the buildings are crumbling into the ground but there are signs everywhere of a recovery as many are now being restored by foreign agencies and foreign individuals who have seen the potential of owning a property in this amazing location.

There is a lot of history on the island that dates back to Arab traders who built many forts on the islands that were subseqs uently taken over by the Portuguese who colonised Mozambique and shipped many thousands of slaves from here to Brazil.

We will be here for the next few days and will be exploring further.
