Had an ominous start to the day, took off from Ibo Island and routed for Medjumbe Island, a 44 mile flight into the Mozambique channel.

Tjeerd's trike was loaded camel style with all our luggage and Mark jumped into mine for the crossing. Shortly after take off some dark squal clouds started rolling in and we experienced a little tropical in flight rain.

As quick as they arrived they dissappeared and a true paradise unfolded before us. Medjumbe is a small island of whitch 50% is covered by the runway and the rest is home to 13 beach cottages surrounded by white beaches and blue sea.

If you had to imagine a picture perfect tropical island then this is it.
